15 months

On Sunday my baby boys will be 15 months old. Having to post this one day early since we will be at the beach tomorrow.......yippee!!!

WARNING: This is going to be a loooong post...as in 16 pictures long. Proceed ahead if you want, but no rolling your eyes as you scroll through pic after pic. Just remember that this is more for me than for you. This is my version of scrapbooking. (I am a self-proclaimed scrapbook flunkie)

The good news for you the reader is that since I'm NOT going to become a blogging flunkie, you won't have to endure such a recap again. From now on I can post a picture each month as they turn another month older!

So, here's a look at them month by month.

Starting with Day 2 in the hospital. One of my very favorite pictures from when they were so tiny. This is how they slept for the first few weeks, head-to-head and often nose-to-nose. The more crammed they were, the better.

In this picture, Zander is on the left and Zane the right.

June 2008....1 month old....Zander left, Zane right
July 2008....2 months old....Zander left, Zane right
August 2008....3 months old....same set-up (Zander then Zane)

September 2008....4 months old...Zane left, Zander right
October 2008....5 months old....Zander then Zane
November 2008....6 months old....Zane left, Zander right
December 2008....7 months old...
I know you cannot see their faces but this picture still brings a smile to my face. It was completely un-posed. They were playing in the floor and Zane just reached his arm around Zander and pulled him over by him. Soooooo very sweet
January 2009....8 months old....in the Memphis airport headed back to their birthplace, Gainesville, FL.
February 2009....9 months old....when they were really small, I color coded pacifiers, bottles, etc...Zane was green and Zander was blue. So this picture is funny because Zander has a passy in his mouth but it's not blue (his assigned color). You can see that Zane is crying. Zander had stolen Zane's passy away from him and was thinking he likes green, too!

March 2009....10 months old....Zander left, Zane right
April 2009....11 months old....Easter morning before church
May 2009....1st birthday party

June 2009....13 months old....Zander then Zane
July 2009....14 months old....road tripping in Northeast Arkansas

August 2009....15 months old

Golf....not my most favorite activity

Tonight started the second month that Eli has been participating in The First Tee golf program. Although I really would like for Eli to actively pursue the game of golf, I sooooooo dread every Thursday evening when I have to take him. Its not nice. I know. But trying to keep 2 babies satisfied in the hot sun for an hour is not an easy feat. (more on that later)
One of the lessons for tonights class was chipping. Here he is watching the demonstration...
Getting ready to try it....

And the swing....

So back to trying to keep those babies satisfied. Here's the crew on the sidelines. Kept them mostly entertained with snacks, books, and a few toys....

Sweet Zaney boy seems to be happy eating a wagon wheel....

Zander has decided that the lady who is supposed to be feeding him is too busy taking pictures for her blog.........so, he'll just help himself to another snack....
And since Emma Kate only had 3 1/2 hours of gymnastics today, she better get in some more practice time while we're sitting around doing nothing....

Be-boppin Boy

So our little Zane LOVES music! Anytime music starts playing he immediately starts boppin' his head to the beat. My mom saw the following video from YouTube and sent it to me, saying how it reminded her of Zane. Notice the little boy sitting to the right of Tennessee Ernie Ford.

Isn't that funny? Supposedly that little boy is his son!

So since this is my family blog, here's a video clip of my cute Zaney boy! These clips were taken over a 2 day period so you'll notice him pre-haircut and post-haircut.

You Might Be a Redneck if....

Well, you know we live in Arkansas now, so the title seemed appropriate.

You might be a redneck if you use the water sprinklers as:

~a swimming pool for your kids
OR
~a way to give your kids a bath

All joking aside, Eli and Emma Kate LOVE to get on the trampoline when the sprinklers are on!

One Haircut, Two Haircut, Three Haircut, Four

With this title, you may be thinking I took all 4 kids to get their haircut. Nope, just one of them. This was Zane's 4th haircut. My Aunt Glenda gave him his first little baby trim back in March when we were at my parents house. His hair REALLY started growing after that and just continues to grow thicker and quicker each time. Since I wasn't blogging back in March, here's a recap of all 4 haircuts.

March 30th:

Before....

During....
After....

The next haircut was done right after Zane turned 1.
May 13th:
On the way to see Mrs. Trudi....

This one didn't go too well either....

But look how stinkin' cute he looked after....

6 weeks later it had grown out again!
June 24th:
On the way....
Went a bit better during the actual cutting process....
After....
Which brings us to today. It had been 6 weeks again. I don't schedule it for every 6 weeks, just can tell when it gets that shaggy look that its time to go. Then, when I looked back at the calendar I realized that it is happening almost at 6 weeks on the dot.

August 4th:
Before....

This time was the BEST BY FAR! He never cried or even needed a sucker. He was still very serious but was SO GOOD!

After....

Potty Prowlers

I suppose it's a rite of passage for every baby to play in the toilet at some point. Thankfully, our toilet has been flushed everytime a baby has decided to play in the water :).

Zander discovered the
fun back in May.
After that, we tried to be
very aware of keeping
the lids down and bathroom doors shut. That seems to have solved the problem for the mostpart.
We do have the occasional forgetful moment when we don't shut the door. Zane took opportunity of such a moment earlier in the week. Apparently the water needed to be measured also. You can see he put a measuring cup in there. Of course, I had to run to another room to get the camera. By the time I got back, he was taking the measuring cup in and out of the toilet (yes, the water was accumulating in the cup). Thankfully, he never drank any!

It's All Fun & Games Until...

I'm sure you've heard the saying "It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt." I got the phrase caught on video today! The baby boys were having fun with one of our ride-on toys. Zander was riding on it while Zane pushed him. I wanted to video how much fun they were having. However, at the end of the video, you'll see Zander stick his finger in Zane's mouth. Of course, Zane has the natural instinct to bite down when something is in his mouth. Then, a second later, you see that Zander hasn't learned his lesson...he tries it again. So for these boys today the saying is "It's all fun and games until someone gets bit."

***Anytime I post a video and you can't hear it because of the music from the blog, scroll down to the very bottom of the blog page. You will see the black music player. Click the pause button (two parallel lines that look like ll) and the music will stop. You can then scroll back up to the video and click the play button to hear it.
